Malak Desert Child is about the adventures of a feisty 5-year-old and her mother and sisters. Malak is her family’s only defence against a violent drunkard father. Her charm and unexpected valour in one so young compel the new local schoolteacher and his friends to help the family escape to the Sahara, the land of her mother's family.
This rivetting story is also of those who came to the family’s aid: Pete a massive and mysterious ex-soldier, Masuhun the girl's, one school day teacher, and his old friend Ruben. The setting is Morocco and Algeria and of course the ancient desert, the Sahara. What happens,? The Boy Who Sailed To Spain
His father is set upon by a band of thugs and despite the boy's efforts to defend him, the man is fatally injured. When he recovers consciousness Masuhun weeps by his father’s deathbed where the injured man's last wishes lead the impetuous youth to launch his tiny catamaran into tempestuous seas to do the dying man’s bidding.
